Cabinets By Nichols, Inc. builds all our doors the old-fashioned way. The stiles, rails, and panel are cut with precision joinery.
Prior to placing the panel into the frame we use the following steps to ensure a truly hand-crafted door:
- Each door panel is individually hand-sanded to a smooth surface
- Each door panel scoop is pre-stained before it is fitted into the frame so that when the natural expansion and contraction occurs it will not reveal any raw wood
- Before the door is assembled, we place a flexible metal clip into the stiles and rails to hold the panel in place during the natural expansion and contraction that occurs
- Once the door is fitted together, it is hand-sanded before it receives our catalyzed conversion varnish
